ABOUT MODEL SPACE

A thinking studio built around people, purpose, and the realities of building.

Model Space is a behavior-driven architecture and interior design studio based in the Philippines.

We bring together research, planning, architecture, interiors, materials, technical development, and project realization to create spaces that improve how people live, work, heal, gather, and grow.

Spaces that mean something.

THE MODEL SPACE STORY

We began by designing spaces. We grew by understanding the lives behind them.

Model Space began with a shared belief that design should be more than visual expression.

Every project introduced us to different people, industries, communities, and ways of living. Homes taught us about rituals and relationships. Workplaces taught us about culture and collaboration. Hospitality projects taught us about care, memory, and experience. Commercial spaces taught us how design supports operations, identity, and growth.

Over time, our work evolved from solving spatial requirements to understanding the behavior, meaning, and purpose behind them.

Today, Model Space works across architecture, interior design, planning, branding, technical development, and project realization through one connected design process.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Design should improve the way everyday life is experience

We believe architecture should begin with people, not trends.

We study how people move, work, rest, gather, heal, and grow before deciding what a space should become.

We believe every project deserves its own idea, shaped by its users, context, culture, and ambitions.

We believe beauty should support function, materials should age with dignity, and meaningful concepts should remain intact through technical development and construction.

That is why our work is guided by three connected responsibilities.

EMOTIONALLY MEANINGFUL

Spaces should express identity, memory, culture, and aspiration.

BEHAVIORALLY INTELLIGENT

Planning should support real movement, relationships, routines, and operations.

REALISTICALLY BUILDABLE

Ideas should be resolved with technical discipline, budget awareness, and material understanding.

HOW WE WORK TOGETHER

Design is collaborative, but never directionless.

Every project involves many voices.

Our responsibility is to listen carefully, identify what matters most, and translate different requirements into one clear design direction.

We involve clients and stakeholders throughout the process, especially when decisions affect operations, cost, technical performance, or previously approved design intent.

This openness allows concerns to be addressed earlier, reduces last-minute changes, and helps everyone understand the reasoning behind the project.

This reflects how your team works during walkthroughs and stakeholder reviews.

HOW WE PRACTICE

Good design depends on trust

CLARITY

We explain the reasoning, implications, and priorities behind important decisions.

COLLABORATION

Clients, users, consultants, and stakeholders are involved at the moments their input matters most.

ACCOUNTABILITY

We take responsibility for design intent, coordination, documentation, and the commitments within our scope.

CONTINUITY

We connect concept, technical development, material decisions, and construction so the finished space remains faithful to its purpose.

THE FOUNDERS

Two perspectives,
one shared design philosophy

Model Space was founded by architects Norvim Mallari and Aimee Richelle Mallari

Their combined practice brings together strategy, planning, architecture, interiors, materials, lighting, technical development, and the practical realities of construction.

Norvim leads the strategic, planning, technical, and project-realization dimensions of the practice.

Aimee leads design direction, spatial experience, interiors, materials, lighting, and visual storytelling.

Together, they guide a collaborative studio that moves between research and intuition, concept and execution, meaning and reality.

PRINCIPAL ARCHITECT & SOLE DIRECTOR

Norvim leads the studio’s design strategy, environmental planning, technical direction, project coordination, and connection between concept and construction. His work focuses on translating complex project requirements into clear, purposeful, and buildable design systems.

THE studio

Design is a collective practice

Model Space is shaped by architects, designers, apprentices, planners, coordinators, technical professionals, and project partners who bring different perspectives to every project.

We work through open discussion, focused critique, continuous learning, and shared responsibility.

Every member of the studio is encouraged to understand not only what is being designed, but why each decision matters.

Different roles. Shared standards. One design direction.

How we grow

QUESTION DEEPLY

We look beyond the immediate request to understand the larger problem.

DESIGN WITH PURPOSE

Every move should support the people, experience, and objectives of the project.

REVIEW OPENLY

Good ideas become stronger through discussion, testing, and constructive critique.

BUILD RESPONSIBLY

Design decisions should account for resources, materials, implementation, and long-term use.

Every meaningful space begins with a better question

Tell us what you are building, who it is for, and what you hope it will make possible.

We will help you translate that vision into a space people can experience, remember, and use well.
